What will I learn?

Here are some of the things you will be able to do at the end of the Beginner English Course:

• understand and use familiar everyday expressions and very basic phrases to get the things you need
• introduce yourself and other people
• ask and answer questions about personal details such as where you live, people you know and things you have
• have a simple conversation if the other person talks slowly and clearly and is prepared to help you

The Course’s Story

You arrive in Velawoods, you don’t know anybody but soon you meet your friendly neighbours Bob and Amy who later help you to buy things for your apartment. You also meet their family and friends. You now have so many new friends on your Velawoods Friends page! Your friends Hakan and Adele also visit you in Velawoods!

Your new neighbours have moved in next door. There is a new film in the cinema and you invite yours friends to go with you. One day, you meet Chen and Lily and discuss Nadine’s busy life. Your neighbours have guests from Italy and you are invited to Bob and Amy’s house for a pizza party. You show the guests Velawoods and help them buy some clothes. They like Velawoods a lot.

You go on holiday with three friends and it is fantastic! When you come back you’re very busy. You have lunch with Nelly, go shopping with Carol and Paul and go to a big party. A week later, you go to an 'International Evening'. Carol and Karen talk about their trip to Paris, it’s very interesting. You, Lisa, Lorenzo and Pedro decide to go away for the weekend. You go to London and have a great time.  You also go to Show & Screen for 'Welcome to Your Future!' You listen to people talk about future plans. One of your friends is going away. You, Lisa and Lorenzo decide to have a party for her.
